Kathryn graduated from Tulane University Honors Program magna cum laude in 2008 with a BS in Neuroscience and went on to work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a Research Scientist in Maryland for two years. Kathryn published six scientific journal articles and has been cited in many other scientific papers and textbooks.
 
Upon returning to Louisiana, she attended Medical school as a MD/PhD candidate at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans. In Medical school, Kathryn realized her passion was to be on the business side of medicine and began working for an insurance consulting firm in south Louisiana. 
 
Kathryn has over seven years in the insurance industry being an account manager and an account executive. She has extensive working experience with benefit administration systems and the integration with insurance carriers. Kathryn was primarily responsible for implementing clients with insurance carriers to ensure a seamless implementation and managing the day-to-day servicing of clients when it related to their employee benefits such as medical, dental, vision and voluntary products.
 
Between her medical background, research training and insurance industry experience, Kathryn brings a unique and diverse background in understanding claims and medical diagnoses relevant to insurance costs. 
 
Kathryn decided to join JJL&W as a Benefits Consultant in March 2023 to further her career and to support a highly productive team. In addition to prospecting and managing her own clients, Kathryn works directly with the Managing Partners and Vice President of Employee Benefits to assist with the management of JJL&W clients.
