Mitch worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana for over 5 years holding multiple roles in Operations (Project Manager for Office of Group Benefits Program), Marketing Services and Systems, and Group Sales. One of his key roles in Marketing was managing payroll and benefits administration system integrations with Blue Cross and implementing new online enrollment and billing tools.


As an Account Executive in the Baton Rouge Group Sales Office, Mitch’s role was to manage relationships with assigned national and local brokers, external vendors and groups while also establishing relationships with new groups for sales and retention. He was responsible for working with customers and internal personnel, providing training to junior level account management staff and sharing product knowledge and technical expertise to ensure customer satisfaction while also ensuring the smooth operation of internal enrollment procedures. Part of these duties included managing the annual renewal process alongside Account Managers on large and complex clients, such as underwriting negotiation, preparation of renewal analysis, and client presentations, utilizing medical and clinical SME’s within the organization when necessary.


In the summer of 2020, after 3 years as an Account Executive at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, Mitch decided to leave Blue Cross and further his career as an insurance professional by becoming an independent broker and benefits consultant.
